1) What is the Meridian Stretching ?
We would like to introduce
you a useful stretching exercise which was the brainchild of the late Mr.
Masunaga who was a great Shiatsu master. Meridians means the energy flow that are recognized in the lived body not dead body.
There are six types of the meridaian stretching which starts from the Lung & Large Intestine up to the Liver & Gall Blader.Keeping on this stretching
exercise every day, it works to improve the flow of "Ki" energy in the body
and it has a benificial effect on preventing illness.
We hope that you could get more healty body and mind with these merideian stretching and Shiatsu treatment.
2) Lung and Large Intestine Meridian Stretching
Lung Meridian intake of Ki energy which is fundamental in life from the air for use by the human body and to build up resistance against external intrusions. Elimination of gases not needed through the process of exhalation.
Large Intestine Meridian helps the function of the lung. Secretes and excretes from inside and outside of the body. Eliminates the stagnation of Ki energy.

1) Stand up spreading
your legs a bit wider than the shoulder-width stance.
Put your both hands behind your back and cross both thumbs while the index fingers opening outside.

2) While exhaling, bend forward
with upstretching your both arms backwards.

3) Inhale calmly when
your body stretched enough, and keep this position for a while. At that
time, you would feel some contractions in the lower legs, the stomach, the
back and the arms.
4) Exhaling calmly so that you would feel getting loose the tension as same as relaxing your attention.
Repeat #(3) and #(4) several times so
that you could relieve the following symptoms gradually.
Tendency
to sigh and choke while breathing. breathing difficulties due to overanxiety,
shoulder and back pain, heaviness in the head, dizziness, coughing pain
in the chest, asthma and bronchitis, lack of Ki energy and fatigue from
overwork, lack of exercise, diarrhe, constipation, etc.

3) Spleen and Stomach Meridian Stretching
Function of Spleen Meridian :Digestion and process of fermentation. It governs general digestion including saliva, gastric bile, secretions from the small intestine, reproductive hormones related to the breast and ovaries.
Function of Stomach Meridian :Related to functioning of stomach, esophagus, duodenum, as well as functioning of reproductive, lactation, ovary and appetite mechanism, and menstrual cycle.

1) Sitting down Japanese style with the buttocks
between the legs.
While exhaling, bend down backward slowly with putting knees together.

2) Stretching
both arms straight up with joining hands(turn out the palm)as the back
and shoulders putted on the floor.
Then inhale while feeling stretched enough.
3) Exhaling, try to feel that you are loosening and relaxing well.
Repeat
#(2) and #(3) several times so that you could relieve the following symptoms
gradually.
Lack of gastric acid, thirsty, poor digestion, sticky feeling in the mouth, overeating, stiff shoulders, chronic gastric problems, easily fatigues, vomiting, rough skin, malfunctioning of female organs and nasal stagnation, etc.
