1. Close your eyes and recall bad memories which make you angry or embarrased.
2. Think over them (bad memories) every day in your meditation until they don't make you angry or embarassed any more.
It might take a long time, maybe at least 2 or 3 years, but you should do it. This process is the cleaning your consciousness.
Way to clean your consciousness effectively:
Try to think over the bad memories objectively. Recall the reason why you got angry or embarassed. No matter whose faults those were forgive them. And think that all of the results you get are your responsibilities, because in this world there are no accidents, no coincidence.
If you get something bad, it would be the result you gave something bad to someone before. This is the law of universe which is called "Cause and Effect's Law".
Think every good thing or bad thing you bet is the gift that make your spirit high. And thank everything you get, and accept them.
When you could take everything objectively and thank them, you would understand how you would be able to clean your consciousness.
The reason you have to clean your consciousness ( or memories ) in meditation is that you have think nothing. If you would recall something, especially bad memories, or have worldly thoughts, they would bother your meditation.
When you are meditating and cleaning your consciousness, you would realize that many thoughts which is called subconsciousness appear in your mind.
Subconsciousness is the thoughts or emotions which existence you do not know usually. Although subuconsciousness is not controlled by you, they many times ruled your behavior or your way of thinking.
They are covered by consciousness. After consciousness is cleaned, or consciousness is taken away, then subconsciousness spring up from your deep mind.
The last step is to clean the subconciousness. The way of cleaning subconsciousness is same as cleaning consciousness. When you know your subconsciousness, then they bebome your consciousness.
Anyway, when you could clean subconsciousness, you would be really doing meditaion.
